Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), and autonomy software.HII creates advanced unmanned solutions for defense, marine research, and commercial applications. Serving customers in more than 30 countries, HII provides design, autonomy, manufacturing, testing, operations, and sustainment of unmanned systems, including unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and unmanned surface vessels (USVs).Come Join HII! The location for the job will be in the DC area with a specific focus on USVs.Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Identify, establish and develop the customer network for the Surface Warfare Account, including Naval Expeditionary Combat Command, US Marine Corps, Naval Surface Warfare, Office of Naval Research, and US Coast Guard.
  • Progressively grow a pipeline of new, qualified business opportunities, achieve annual new business targets, and develop expansion opportunities with existing accounts that fit within the UxS portfolio.
  • Prepare, maintain, and execute account plans that reflect the priorities established in the business strategy.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the account and competitive environment through regular customer-facing meetings and engagements.
  • Work collaboratively with line management, program management, technical subject matter experts, contracts, and partners.
  • Develop pricing strategy, marketing strategies, and long-range business plans.
  • Identify markets, licensing opportunities, and determine the feasibility of product development.
  • Develop and disseminate information continuously to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.
  • Manage overall budget schedules, bid and proposal or selling expenses, ensuring performance standards are realistic and attainable.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning meetings.
  • Lead the writing of White Papers, BAA Submissions, and unsolicited proposals to the government as required.
  • Lead, plan, and develop business for the services (Training, Field Operations, Depot Maintenance, Prototyping, Test and Evaluation) line of UxS business and ensure a coordinated and integrated business development and service delivery model.
  • Represent HII UxS at Trade Show and Industry events such as Undersea Warfare NDIA conferences, Navy League Sea Air Space trade show, and Submarine Tech Review.What you will be doing...Identifies and implements business development projects relating to new products and/or industries, technologies, or services. Identifies markets, licensing opportunities, and determines the feasibility of product development. Performs economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinates with internal departments in identifying/implementing business development projects. May work with sales, marketing, and potential customers to determine their needs. Develops and disseminates information continuously to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.What we are looking for...
    • 8 years relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
    • Must have a comprehensive understanding of business value in the Surface Warfare industry.
    • Must have a secret clearance and be able to maintain one.
    • Operational or Acquisitions experience leading forces operating and/or acquiring Unmanned Systems is desired.
    • Ability to understand customer needs and objectives from programmatic, financial, organizational, and technical perspectives.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute a winning effort (customer marketing skills, assessing and understanding customer requirements, baseline solution formulation, competitor and competitive analysis, strategic pricing/price-to-win, and understanding of win strategies and themes).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, energetic and creative thinker with high business ethics and standards, intelligent and articulate with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong analytical ability that supports discovering and processing information relevant to strategic pursuits.
