Koojan Downs is part of the integrated beef supply chain for Harvest Road. This integrated beef supply chain ranges from north to southwest of Western Australia and is based on best-practice ecological planning and animal welfare management.We are currently seeking an energetic and positive Feedmill Manager with a passion for animal welfare to join our state-of-the-art feeding facility near Moora, WA. This is WA's largest feeding facility and is designed to supply Harvest Road's processing facility, Harvey Beef.Reporting to the Business Unit Manager - Koojan Downs Feedlot, this opportunity will suit a self-motivated person who is hands-on and is passionate about the agriculture industry. You will have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn and contribute to the team.You will be responsible for the operations of the feeding facility and ensure that the operational deliverables and staff are managed in accordance with Harvest Road's quality, safety and animal welfare policies and procedures by ensuring the proper programs are in place to promote optimal growth.You will ensure that the feedmill is running at full optimal business performance and supports the long-term interests of the company.Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Assist the operation manager to plan and execute capital expenditure projects and feed delivery efficiencies.
• Formulation, allocation, and delivery of daily cattle feed rations including the milling of raw materials.
• Ensure feed trucks are operating in a well-maintained and functional capacity.
• Conduct scheduled ration and commodity test sample collection.
• Adopt a proactive approach to identifying hazards, assessing risk and reporting incidents.
• Provide guidance and supervision of fellow team members in the feed team.
• Be an active and dedicated team member.
• Provide training and inductions for staff.
• A willingness to be flexible in working hours, including weekend work.
• Follow industry best practices to minimize risk to the health of livestock.
• Report to management any staffing or production issues in a timely manner.
• Work as part of a middle management team to achieve common production targets on a daily basis.
• Perform other tasks and duties as required from time to time as required by the needs of the business.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in the operation and management of a livestock enterprise in a similar environment.
• Progressive and positive attitude.
• Genuine dedication to animal welfare.
• Experience with the maintenance and repair of machinery.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Current Driver's license.
• Motivated and willing to contribute to the Harvest Road team culture.
