artists and arts professionals.PURPOSE OF POSITION: Design, build,
and execute all aspects of Human Resources, including but not
limited to talent acquisition, compensation and benefits,
performance management, learning and development, and
payroll.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred bachelor's degree in human resources, Business
Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Human Resources, with a
minimum of two years' experience at the HR Manager level.
- Compliance and Payroll experience working with an HRIS. ADP
preferred.
- In-office position with occasional evening or weekend hours
based on business needs.SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in an Arts and Entertainment environment
preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights
for decision-making.
- Fluent in legal compliance requirements.
- Microsoft Word and Excel (Intermediate level).REQUIRED

FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIESOverall Job Function:
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the
organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting,
and retention.
- Provides guidance to Managers and Staff on Arena policy.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes,
training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's
human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resource
programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary
matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent
management; recognition, and morale; occupational health and
safety; and training and development.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes
best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with
federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and
recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and
practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory
changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent
management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to
communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper
management.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service
agreements.
- Maintain HR Department Calendar and monitor and respond to HR
mailbox inquiries.
- Update and maintain employee handbook with best practices.
- Partner with Chief of Staff on employee engagement
events.Recruiting:
- Manage the hiring process, including posting job openings,
writing job descriptions and assisting in the interview process as
needed.
- Coordinate recruitment activity with hiring managers.
- Send communications to candidates regarding next steps via the
ATS.
- Draft offer letters and coordinate onboarding with hiring
manager.Employee Relations & Talent Management Support:
- Serve as a confidential and trusted contact point for employee
complaints and requests.
- Collect appropriate documentation for employee issues.
- Administer the annual performance review process.
- Manage Training and Development.
- Advise managers on disciplinary
procedures.Orientation/Onboarding/Offboarding:
- On-board new employees through orientation process. Provide key
information needed including benefits, overview of the company,
leadership profiles, and any additional information for the new
employee to be successful at Arena Stage.
- Ensure all new hire steps are complete in HRIS, and all
required documentation has been uploaded or filed securely to
include I-9 collections and employment authorization verification
process as needed.
- Assist with new hire onboarding programs including coordinating
and assisting with 30-, 60- and 90-day check-ins. Manage
Separation/Termination process for employees to include correct
paperwork is provided to the employee, the HRIS is updated so that
COBRA notices can go out, and exit interviews are provided.Benefits
& Leave Administration:
- Generate and distribute regular communications to staff.
- Relay and support employee benefit questions and concerns by
directing them to the Client Advocate.
- Administer FMLA by ensuring appropriate communications are
provided to employees, third party administrator and documentation
is confidentially collected and filed.
- Handle Workers Compensation claims with vendor and
confidentially manage communications and documentation.
- Responsible for championing yearly insurance renewals and Open
Enrollment.
- Schedule periodic 403(b) representative visits to Arena
Stage.
- Coordinate and execute Employee Wellness Initiatives and
Programs.Record-Keeping & Reporting:
- Enter data into (ADP) system as needed and provide regular and
Ad hoc reports.
- Audit and maintain Arena Stage personnel files and HR
records.
- Responsible for all HR compliance reporting to include but not
limited to EEO and ACA reports.
- Respond to employment verification requests.
- Complete regular audits and HR compliance activities.
- Maintain and update Health & Safety incidents log for OSHA data
collection.Payroll:
- Learn payroll system so that back-up can be provided when
needed.
- Streamline communications and processes for employees regarding
