Job Description:

PACO Group, Inc. (PACO) is seeking multiple Infrastructure Construction Estimators (across various levels and disciplines) to join our team supporting WMATA's wide-ranging infrastructure projects. The selected individuals will play key roles in preparing and reviewing construction cost estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, and ensuring compliance with WMATA standards and best practices. These positions involve coordination with diverse technical disciplines and require strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Scope of WorkUnder the supervision of PACO's project management and engineering leads, the Infrastructure Construction Estimators will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and Reviewing Estimates
    Develop and manage detailed construction cost estimates-covering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead-for WMATA projects.
  • Quantity Takeoffs and Document Interpretation
    Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and other project documents to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Technical Coordination
    Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to validate scopes of work and schedules.
  • Code and Standards Compliance
    Ensure alignment with WMATA guidelines, industry codes, and technical standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address project challenges, incorporate feedback, and maintain consistent workflows.Depending on your area of expertise, you may focus on electrical, mechanical, buildings/infrastructure, low-voltage systems, or other disciplines.     • Multidisciplinary Takeoff and Surveying SupportRequirementsTo be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:
    • Education and Experience
      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
      • Proven experience in construction estimating for large-scale infrastructure, transit, or related projects.
      • Technical Proficiency
        • Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software and cost databases.
        • Ability to interpret and apply relevant building codes and project specifications.
        • Analytical and Coordination Skills
          • Strong ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns.
          • Effective at coordinating with multiple disciplines to gather information and align estimates with project goals.
          • Communication
            • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise among multiple stakeholders.
            • Comfortable reviewing documents, preparing reports, and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
            • Adaptability and Problem-Solving
              • Capable of working under deadlines and adjusting to evolving project demands.
              • Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.Hourly Rate Range: $50-$80/hrBenefits
