2024-3418The PositionD.C. United Summer Camps is five days of fun,
soccer instruction, and competition within our custom-built
curriculum for all children ages 5-13. We are looking for a Site
Leader, as head of our on-site leadership team, to be directly
responsible for top-notch implementation of the day-to-day
operations of camp, manage a team of 10+ coordinators and coaches,
and inspire hundreds of D.C. United campers to unlock their
personal best each and every day. We provide the training, soccer
curriculum & daily camp schedules along with all equipment for a
successful camp but need you to bring camp to life with your
enthusiasm, leadership and dedication.What You'll Do
- Manage camp for campers and staff, working to ensure smooth
day-to-day operations, spearheading problem-solving, and acting as
a liaison between Headquarters and the site when needed.
- Create a culture of excitement, teamwork, inclusion,
positivity, respect, and professionalism for everyone who
encounters your site, including facility partners, families, and
teammates.
- Prioritize physical, social, and emotional safety for everyone
on site by being a role model and supporting campers in their
emotional, physical, and social development.
- Work alongside the rest of the leadership team to ensure clean
and organized camp setup.
- Support Coordinators with camper engagement and
management.
- Support the Camp Experience Coordinator in proactive family
communication and relationship building.
- Oversee the seamless transition to after-camp extended day
programming.
- Attend weekly Site Leader meetings.
- Be a loyal and dedicated member of the team who consistently
shows up on time.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Headquarters.About
You
- Possess a bachelor's degree in youth education, sports
management, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent field
experience.
- Youth development expert with 3+ years of youth development or
camp experience.
- Experience managing a team and comfort with public
speaking.
- Passionate about sport-based youth development.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills to oversee logistics
and staff coordination.
- Dedicated to the camp's mission and program quality.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain one
before camp starts).
- Able to remain upright and standing for multiple hours and lift
up to 50 lbs. of sports equipment.
- Committed to adhering to the D.C. United Camp Cell-Phone Free

people.Additional Camp Information
- Time Commitment: Available for pre-camp training and all weeks
of programming.
- Camp Dates & Locations: June 9th - August 8th
- Camps may take place in Washington D.C. and/or Virginia.
- All staff must have reliable transportation to get to site each
day.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:15 am-4:00 pm
- Compensation: $22/hour, with up to 3.75 hours of overtime per
week paid at $33/hour.
