AdministrationSchwab's Personal Trust Services ("PTS") organization
provides personal trust products and services to Schwab's clients,
including individual investors, beneficiaries, RIAs, and corporate
fiduciaries. PTS products and services are provided through three
separate legal entities; Charles Schwab Trust Company, Charles
Schwab Trust Company of Delaware, and CS&Co. PTS products cover
the full fiduciary, agency, and custody spectrum, including
fiduciary trust administration and investment management, directed
trustee, trusteed IRA, administrative agency, trust reporting, and
trust outsourcing. PTS currently serves $35 billion in assets under
management, administration, and custody, meeting the needs of over
1,000 independent RIAs and over 9,000 individual families. -The
position of Director, Trust Administration is responsible for
leading and supervising the management of trust administration
consistent with applicable regulations, laws and industry standards
for our two state-chartered retail trust companies: Charles Schwab
Trust Company ("CSTC") a Nevada state trust company, and Charles
Schwab Trust Company of Delaware ("CSTCD") a Delaware state trust
company, while also acting as our Sr. Site leader for our Delaware
location. - -In this role you will:
- -Lead and supervise multiple trust administration teams in
different geographic locations, and the execution of their duties,
including pre- and post-acceptance reviews, annual administrative
reviews, prudent exercise of discretion, interpretation of the
governing document, and the administration of each trust in
accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of the
governing instrument.
- Develop and maintain a high performing and highly engaged team,
as measured by the Glint survey and employee attrition.
- Create and provide training and support of team members for
professional growth and to be compliant with required fiduciary
standards.
- Travel to other locations for business events, offsites, team
engagement activities, and other activities as needed.
- Oversee the teams overall performance and conduct annual
performance reviews of direct reports.
- Develop an Ultra High Net Worth administration team and
collaborate with internal partners on the creation of new trust
products.
- Serve as the Chair of the discretionary distribution committee,
providing oversight and effective challenge to ensure compliance
with all obligations as a fiduciary. Collaborate with committee
members and leadership to ensure all fiduciary oversight and
reporting is documented.
- Implement and ensure oversight of the team's policies,
procedures and controls. Including the oversight of all post
acceptance and annual administrative account reviews for all trust
products.
- Prepare and present quarterly summaries of the team's
activities to Schwab leadership, the Personal Trust Fiduciary
Committee and other forums as needed.
- Partner with first, second and third line defense teams on
compliance, audit, and operational risk items. Respond to all trust
administration testing and monitoring questions from internal
audit, regulators, compliance and risk management partners.
- Oversee the timely and accurate execution of the team's core
deliverables and escalate any risk items to leadership.
- Serve as the Sr. site leader for the Delaware Office
location.
- Attend and coordinate external personal trust events, including
but not limited to, trust conferences, that highlight trust
administration services.
- Analyze, document, and optimize all trust administration
processes to deliver an outstanding client experience, scalability,
and efficiency in the delivery of personal trust fiduciary services
as either full or directed trustee for clients of investor
services, or as directed trustee in partnership with RIAs through
advisor services.
- Act as a senior leader within Personal Trust Services, helping
to develop the business vision and strategy and leading the
execution of relevant aspects of that strategy.
- Help us build strong relationships with the Delaware state
regulators and the Fed and ensure our compliance with all
regulations.What you have
- 15+ years' experience in personal trust.
- Bachelor's degree or higher, JD preferred, or equivalent work
experience.
- Strong knowledge of the principles of trust administration and
practical experience in administering trusts governed by Delaware
and Nevada law, a plus.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to oversee
multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the
ability to deal effectively with a variety of people.
- Highly motivated and a self-starter.
- Strong emotional intelligence/maturity
- Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting and developing
talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct and
measurable feedback to employees. Experience managing multiple
priorities and supervising distinct teams with varied
strengths.
- Purpose driven leader who displays confidence and courage in
business and talent decisions, actions and communications with a
shown ability to take decisive action when needed including
championing ideas, position or dissent.
- Able to act decisively in making solid, informed judgment calls

- Base Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000. - Your compensation may
