Beekeeper Group needs a Vice President with direct experience in
business development in a communications/advocacy context for our
growing Hive! We are looking for people who love a challenge and
are not afraid of tackling multiple projects and building strong
relationships with various clients simultaneously. Experience
growing revenue and driving sales in an agency environment is
desired.Our ideal candidate will build their practice within the
Beekeeper Group framework, has experience writing anything from
strategy memos to proposals, possess great digital savvy, and has
established relationships with industry leaders. If you aren't

you be doing?
- Fostering a network of potential clients with the goal of
creating a unique sales pipeline
- Contributing to the overall new business pipeline
- Providing expert communications and/or advocacy counsel to
clients in line with respective business priorities
- Identify emerging opportunities to add greater value for
clients
- Identifying and building relationships with client community
stakeholders
- Speaking at and attending conferences and events in DC (and
with some travel)
- Heavily involved in the proposal, pitch, and contracting
process for potential clients
- Contribute to overall organization sales strategies with senior
leadership
- Recognize and apply impactful communications trends, and
translate those insights into actionable ideasSkills
- 10+ years of full-time experience in public affairs or
communications
- Proven track record in driving revenue, securing new business,
partnerships, or client accounts
- Self-starter with the ability to identify and act on
opportunities independently
- Ability to foster and grow a network of clients
- Experience working with clients in an advocacy, nonprofit, or
government relations space
- Proven skills in preparing and delivering persuasive pitches
and RFP responses
- Experience with digital communications tools (e.g. social
media, email campaigns, data analytics, etc.)
- Prior work in a fast-paced agency setting is preferred
- Comfortable working on tight deadlines and in a team
environment
- Experience with paid social advertising
- Superior strategic thinking, writing, and presentation skills
required
- Experience managing budgets and teams
- A strong desire to stay aware of the trends in communications
and public affairsHere's a look at what you can expect:
- The annual compensation for this role is $200K+, inclusive of
base salary, expected commissions, and bonuses with the expectation
that a successful candidate will be able to leverage our
competitive business incentive structure to increase overall
compensation (details available upon request) substantially.
- Health insurance (including medical, dental, and vision), of
which Beekeeper Group pays 70% of the reference plan premium.
- Short and Long-term disability, basic life insurance, and
ad&d coverage of which Beekeeper Group pays 100% of the
premium.
- 401(k) retirement plan, which Beekeeper Group matches 100% on
the dollar through 5%.
- Health, Transportation, and Dependent Care Flexible Spending
Accounts (FSAs).
- Yearly vacation of 10 days and 5 days of sick leave (including
two personal days) at full pay, accrued monthly. Personal leave
accrues at a greater rate after three years at the company.
- 13 paid holidays per calendar year, with a 2-hour early release
on the day prior.
