that truly matters.Job Summary:We are seeking a strategic and
donor-focused Manager, Donor Engagement & Response to drive
multichannel fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and revenue
growth. This role will develop and implement segmentation
strategies, oversee direct response campaigns, and manage a
portfolio of mid-level donors to enhance retention and pipeline
development. The ideal candidate will collaborate with fundraising
agencies, optimize fundraising technologies, and create compelling
donor communications. With strong project management and
copywriting skills, this position plays a critical role in
strengthening donor relationships and supporting the organization's
mission-driven fundraising goals.Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support and expand a comprehensive donor-centric strategy for
multichannel fundraising campaigns that mobilize new and existing
supporters.
- Drive direct response segmentation strategy based on donor
behavior, personality and connection to the cause.
- Lead partnership with direct response agency to scale
fundraising revenue and pipeline development.
- Identify prospects for potential major and planned gift
cultivation and collaborate with the Director, Development for
seamless transitions.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors (e.g., $1,000-$9,999
annually), building relationships to increase engagement,
retention, donor satisfaction, and upgrades.
- Oversee stewardship activities, including acknowledgment
processes, impact communications, handle custom outreaches for
leadership portfolios, and more.
- Management of fundraising technologies, including but not
limited to, Fundraise Up, Double the Donation, Chariot, Freewill,
etc.
- Manage the applications and registrations for 3rd party funding
and workplace giving.
- Report on key performance metrics and report results
regularly.
- Collaborate with the Donor Operations team to elevate
segmentation, audience development, prospect research, frontline
fundraising, and reporting.
- Grow new and retain existing donors with compelling recognition
and communications.
- Support the CDO, and Director of Development with donor
recognition societies that celebrate and cultivate ZERO's most
committed supporters.
- Ensure a seamless and integrated donor experience across
channels.
- Work closely with the major gifts, annual giving, and
stewardship teams to enhance a major gift donor pipeline.
- Contribute to developing donor segmentation and journey mapping
for enhanced engagement.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to enhance
the organization's fundraising strategies.
- Support copywriting for all direct response materials being
created.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, marketing,
or related field.
- Three to five years of experience in direct-response
fundraising and individual giving.
- Epic skills in copywriting and editing to inspire donor
action.
- Proficiency in fundraising technologies (e.g., Blackbaud,
Fundraise Up, Double the Donation).
- Demonstrated experience in donor segmentation and audience
development.
- Success and enjoyment in donor stewardship, fundraising
campaigns, and multi-channel marketing strategies.
- Deep understanding of direct response campaigns, donor
acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Ability to interpret donor behavior and fundraising metrics for
informed decision-making.
- Strong writing abilities for creating donor outreach and
recognition materials.
- Skilled in fostering partnerships with donors, stakeholders,
and agencies.
- Comfortable managing and optimizing fundraising platforms and
tools.
- Ability to work effectively with development teams and
leadership to align fundraising goals with mission objectives.
- Strong project management experience.
- Seeks a fun, proactive, and trustworthy work
environment.Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in fundraising or nonprofit
management.
- Experience managing relationships with external fundraising
agencies.
- Proven success in growing monthly giving programs and donor
recognition initiatives.
- Familiarity with digital advertising, social media, and
e-marketing campaigns.
- Knowledge of donor psychology and behavior-driven fundraising
strategies.
- Experience in reporting on key metrics associated with direct
response program.Physical Requirements:
- Constant use of a computer and other office productivity
equipment, such as computer printer, calculator, and copier.
- Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the
time.
- The ability to recognize details at close range for extended
periods of time.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will
understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these
