Job Title: Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer (Radio Systems
Manager)

Work Schedule: On-site as needed, Remote when not on-site
Job Type: Full-Time Contractor
US Citizen only due to nature of project
Must-Have Skills:
Radio Frequency (RF) Network Design & Analysis: Strong experience
in RF network design, including link budget analysis, coverage
planning, and interference mitigation.
Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Systems Engineering: Expertise in
engineering, design, and implementation of LMR communications
systems, including multi-trunk system management and
troubleshooting.
FCC & Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of FCC regulations
and the ability to ensure system compliance with federal and
regional regulations.
Radio Systems Testing & Troubleshooting: Proven ability to use RF
testing equipment (Aeroflex, Bird Technologies, Motorola) for
system troubleshooting and performance evaluation.
Technical Documentation & Reporting: Strong experience in preparing
and maintaining technical documentation, including system
configurations, test results, and reports for senior
leadership.
Responsibilities:
Perform full-range analysis, design, implementation, and
optimization of RF systems, ensuring compliance with FCC and
regional regulations.
Conduct RF coverage planning, interference analysis, and system
dimensioning for airport communication networks.
Support Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system engineering, design, and
implementation for the Airport Authority's radio systems.
Analyze and evaluate radio frequency performance metrics using
advanced test equipment, including Aeroflex Land-Mobile Radio Test
Set, Bird Technologies Site Analyzers, and Motorola R2670 Spectrum
Analyzers.
Ensure system capacity, coverage, and reliability meet required
specifications, and perform troubleshooting when needed.
Work closely with the Airport Authority to provide technical
support, ensuring timely integration and optimization of radio
systems.
Collaborate with senior leadership, providing regular updates on
system performance and project milestones.
Support Tier I, II, and III technical support for fixed network
equipment, including radio frequency components, trunking
controllers, and subscriber units.
Qualifications:
Education: Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Electronics,
Networking, or related field; or extensive experience with
military/technical training.
Certifications: Relevant RF certifications preferred (e.g., Cisco
CCNA/CCNP, Nokia NRS).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in RF network design,
LMR systems, and RF systems optimization, particularly within
airport or similar environments.
Additional Skills:Ability to interact effectively with senior
leadership and Airport Authority personnel.
Must be able to pass airport screening and badging processes.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights for maintenance
windows when required.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience with airport communication systems or wireless
infrastructure in high-security environments.
Familiarity with various radio communication standards and
systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to report technical
findings to non-technical stakeholders.
