Job Description:
The Workday Payroll, Benefits, Time & Absence Manager is a key
leadership position on the Workday Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) team at the University of Maryland, College Park in the
Division of Information Technology (DIT).This role will report to
the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) Director and provides
managerial support and oversight for several essential areas
including payroll, payroll accounting, benefits, time and
absence.This position will lead a team of analysts to ensure
platform system support, configuration administration and
continuous business process improvements in these functions.This
will require routine facilitation of cross-functional discussions
for solutioning, designing, testing, integrating and
implementing.

Partnerships with our central business operations owners, tenant
partner stakeholders and state agencies will also be a critical
responsibility in order to obtain business requirements, identify
system process improvements and to strategize on new functionality
and enhancements based on business priorities. The successful
candidate is an excellent communicator, collaborator, strategic
thinker, and motivator with a positive team approach to manage
critical functions of a comprehensive Workday system.
The Workday Payroll, Benefits, Time & Absence Manager will be
expected to execute deliverables of the highest quality and present
leading practice solutions for the UMD Workday Enterprise.
This position is considered essential and may be required to work
at the normal work location or an alternative location during a
major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational
emergency to help maintain the continuity of University
services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The incumbent works in an office environment and
the position requires the ability to operate standard office
equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to attend meetings
on and off campus. Evening and weekend work may be required to meet
deadlines. Ability to attend meetings at partner and customer
offices.
PREFERENCES:
* At least 5+ years of a combination of experience in the areas of
payroll, benefits, time and absence.
* Experience with the Workday ERP Platform in the areas of Payroll,
Payroll Accounting, Benefits and Time and Absence.
* ERP Experience including business process administration,
configurations, reporting, EIB loads and understanding of
integration touchpoints.
* Experience Working with and ERP and third party integrations in
key areas of Payroll, Benefits and/or Time.
*Strong Facilitation, Collaboration and Partnership Skills.
* Project Management Skills

Minimum Qualification:
* Education: Bachelor's Degree or be substituted by equivalent
experience or education on a case-by-case basis, subject to the
approval of the hiring authority.
* Experience: 5 years or more years of professional experience and
3 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role, managing teams
of varying sizes and providing guidance to ensure the achievement
of both short-term and long-term objectives.
