Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on.The team:Reporting to our Queensland Personal Injuries Principal Lawyer & Division Head, our North Injuries team specialise in personal injury and compensation claims. The team provide expert guidance and support to clients, helping them understand if they have a claim, guiding them through the claim process, and advocating on their behalf. The team is dedicated to ensuring that clients receive the representation they deserve and fight tirelessly for justice and fair outcome.We are incredibly proud of the work we do, and the impact that we have on everyday people.The role:In this newly created role as the P&C Manager, you will be responsible for driving and delivering strategic outcomes aligned to the business strategy with a focus on organisational effectiveness, employee engagement, strategic workforce planning, talent management and diversity.With a large geographic span, this role will require travel and is a full-time position.Do you have the following experience?

  • Lead and Innovate: Drive the operational P&C function for North Injuries, working closely with division leaders to implement state and national initiatives that enhance our workplace culture.
  • Foster Collaboration: Pioneer an employee experience that promotes positivity, collaboration, and inclusivity, ensuring our teams thrive.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Offer top-notch P&C advice and solutions to division leaders, managers, and employees on employment-related and day-to-day workplace issues.
  • Support and Develop: Lead a Business Partner, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to ensure effective management of workload and team growth.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Partner with the Talent Team to recruit, select, and engage new employees, ensuring seamless integration through induction activities and training.
  • Performance and Development: Support the performance and development of employees, facilitating performance talent and succession processes.
  • Change Management: Oversee and guide change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and continuous improvement.
  • Business Partnering Experience: Senior Business Partnering with a background in supporting and partnering with senior stakeholders. You have had people management experience, with a team of direct reports.If you are someone who has:
    • Effective communication with the ability to clearly convey information, expectations, and feedback to team members and leaders;
    • Interpersonal skills that allow you to build and maintain positive relationships;
    • Organisational skills that have set you up for success in multi-tasking and being efficient;
    • You're a proactive problem-solver with a pragmatic approach to applying HR theory to business, able to deal with ambiguity and respond swiftly to new or unexpected circumstances.Impact: Take the lead in People & Culture within the largest segment of our business.Growth: Collaborate with some of the best and brightest legal professionals.Support: You'll have one direct report and the backing of a wider P&C team of over 20 extraordinary professionals, including Business Partners, Reporting & Systems, Learning & Development, Talent, Internal Communications, Employee Services, and Payroll.
