Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a dynamic and innovative government contractor who is seeking an Interim Controller/Accounting Manager to join their team on a 3-6-month contract basis.Title: Interim Controller/Accounting ManagerLocation: RemoteHourly Rate: $60.00 - $75.00/hourJob Type: Contract (3-6 months)Other: Unanet experience is highly preferredThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracting and hands-on expertise with Unanet or Deltek government contracting software. This role is critical in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reporting.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and standards.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
• Coordinate audits and prepare audit schedules.
• Provide financial analysis and support to senior management.
• Collaborate with project controller to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience in accounting or financial management, specifically within the government contracting industry.
• Proven experience with Unanet or Deltek, government contracting software is required.
• Strong knowledge of federal regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
