OverviewThe Business Services Directorate (BSD) delivers
essential financial, contractual, and project management
capabilities to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) that
are required as part of our management and operations contract to
operate PNNL on behalf of the Department of Energy (DOE). Our BSD
purpose in delivering these capabilities is to provide efficient,
effective, and compliant business services in order to increase the
scientific impact of PNNL.ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounting
performs a variety of financial and/or accounting activities, which
may include the maintenance, control, analysis and development of
complex financial/accounting records, reports and systems and their
ongoing support. Provide or assist in business advice and services
to management and staff to ensure compliance with applicable
federal laws, regulations, policies and sound business practices.
Adheres to and communicates business policies and procedures,
including training and interpretation for the various organizations
supported.Additional responsibilities may include but are not
limited to:
- Performing clerical and administrative financial/accounting
activities in support of the maintenance, control, analysis and
development of complex financial/accounting records, reports and
systems.
- Assisting Finance & Accounting Professionals in providing
advice and services to management and staff to ensure compliance
with applicable federal laws, regulations, policies and good
business practices.
- Assisting in the adherence to and communication of business
policies and procedures, including training and interpretation for
the various organizations supported.
- Possessing the ability to recognize and adhere to diverse
requirements, meet critical deadlines and work to resolve issues in
a timely manner.
- Working with minimal supervision, while teaming and/or
collaborating with other PNNL staff members.QualificationsMinimum
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant work experience
-OR-
- AA or higher and 4 years of relevant work experiencePreferred
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of PNNL/Battelle's financial systems and business
processes highly desired.
- Proficient use of standard office equipment; use of MS Office
Suite (specifically Excel and Access).
- Bookkeeping, accounting and related systems experience;
including government accounting.
