  • Provide financial management support for a branch, office, organization, or department.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
  • Examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
  • Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments affecting the organization's spending.
  • Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets. May conduct training sessions for personnel regarding new budget procedures. Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders.
  • Manage finances across multiple funding types. Track budgets, costs, and variances.
  • Produce executive summaries. Conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements. Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and recommendations for financial issues.
  • Interpret and apply financial management principles. Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations, and organizational strategic goals.
  • Enter financial data into government-approved systems for obligation and procurement (such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning or Standard Procurement System, or any follow-on systems).Job RequirementsAt least 8+ years relevant experience in:
    • Budgeting, Briefing, and Defense at the Chief of Naval Operations and Congressional levels.
