Job Description:
Job Summary:A Flooring Installer is responsible for installing a
variety of flooring materials, including Sheet Vinyl, Carpet, LVT,
VCT, and other resilient flooring materials. This role requires
precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with
various tools and techniques to ensure high-quality
installations.Key Responsibilities:- Preparation: Inspect and
prepare surfaces for installation, including cleaning, leveling,
and smoothing floors.- Installation: Measure and cut flooring
materials to fit rooms, hallways, and other spaces, ensuring a
precise and snug fit.- Application: Apply adhesive or other binding
agents and lay flooring materials according to design
specifications and customer requirements.- Finishing: Trim excess
materials, ensure edges are neat and secure, and apply finishing
touches such as cove base or trim as needed.- Tools and Equipment:
Operate and maintain various hand tools and equipment safely.-
Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, building codes, and
manufacturer guidelines during installation.- Knowledge: Knowledge
and craftsmanship in Commercial Sheet Vinyl, Heat Weld, Cold Weld
and Integral BaseQualifications:- Requirements: Must have a valid
Driver's License and be able to pass a background check and drug
screen.- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational
training in flooring installation is a plus.- Experience: Installer
must have a minimum of 5 years of experience- Proficiency with hand
and power tools.- Strong mathematical and measuring skills.-
Attention to detail and precision.- Physical stamina and the
ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy
materials.- Good communication and customer service skills.-
Certifications: Certification from a recognized flooring
installation program (such as Nora Installation Certification), and
OSHA 10 or 30 Hour is advantageous.Working Conditions:- Physical
Demands: The role involves standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
heavy materials for extended periods.- Hours: Typically full-time,
with the potential for overtime and weekend work depending on
project deadlines.Salary:The salary for a Flooring Installer varies
