to apply:SRE is seeking a Consultant - Business Intelligence and
Economic Data to support a federal contract that provides
data-driven decision support for emergency management, disaster
recovery, and economic resilience efforts.This position is part of
a broader initiative to enhance situational awareness, operational
readiness, and strategic planning by leveraging business
intelligence, economic assessments, data visualization, and
stakeholder communications.The consultant will play a key role in
analyzing firmographic and economic trends, developing real-time
business intelligence dashboards, and producing structured reports
that support government agencies, private sector partners, and
emergency response teams in planning and response operations.The
ideal candidate will have expertise in economic analysis, data
visualization, training development, and technical communication,
with experience using tools like Power BI, ArcGIS, and Adobe
Creative Suite to support risk assessment, disaster impact
analysis, and workforce stabilization strategies.Duties may
include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct firmographic and economic data discovery to assess
business, workforce, and supply chain stability.
- Perform pre-, during-, and post-disaster industry and economic
assessments to evaluate trends, risks, and disruptions.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess economic
stabilization and recovery timelines.
- Develop standardized analytical products that measure and track
business resilience and supply chain dependencies.
- Provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations
based on economic intelligence and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards displaying
business, industry, and supply chain data in near real-time.
- Utilize GIS tools (ArcGIS, Power BI) to generate geospatial
analytics and mapping products.
- Create infographics, reports, and visual materials to support
executive briefings and stakeholder engagements.
- Troubleshoot and maintain data visualization tools, ensuring
accessibility and usability for leadership decision-making.
- Training & Technical Communications
- Design and implement training materials, instructional guides,
and SOPs for personnel.
- Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and knowledge transfer
efforts.
- Maintain and update technical documentation for economic
assessments, data dashboards, and visualization tools.
- Develop communication strategies and executive briefings to
convey complex data in an actionable format.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Reporting
- Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and
industry partners to ensure data insights align with operational
objectives.
- Provide real-time economic impact updates and decision-support
materials.
- Ensure all communication products meet federal contract
standards and enhance program effectiveness.Education and
Experience (Requirements):
- Master's degree (preferred, 3-5 years of experience) in
Business, Economics, Data Science, Communications, Geographic
Information Systems (GIS), or a related field.
- OR Bachelor's degree (required, 8 years minimum experience) in
a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-8 years in a role that includes some combination
of:
- Data analytics, economic modeling, or supply chain
analysis.
- Geospatial analysis using GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS,
Power BI mapping features).
- Technical writing, training development, and documentation
(e.g., SOPs, instructional materials, structured reports).
- Stakeholder communication and content development, including
infographics, decision-support materials, and executive
briefings.
- Proficiency in Power BI, ArcGIS, and data visualization
platforms (e.g., Tableau, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience supporting federal contracts, emergency management,
or business intelligence initiatives.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize large datasets into
actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in data-driven
environments.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear, strategic
insights for decision-makers.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with
cross-functional teams in a high-paced, mission-driven
environment.Additional Experience (Preferred, but not required):
- Familiarity with supply chain analytics and economic
stabilization frameworks.
- Experience developing communication strategies for government
or federal agencies.
- Background in emergency management, crisis response, or federal
agency operations.Compensation:The estimated salary range for this
position is estimated to be $90,000 - $120,000/year. Please note
that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE
considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making
compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets;
experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other
business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all
state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure
compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed
represents the typical salary range for this position and is just
one component of SRE's total compensation package for employees.The
primary work location of this position is the Washington D.C. Metro
