The Watergate Hotel is situated within walking distance of the best the city has to offer.Strategic IntentInstalls, maintains and repairs electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.Organizational StructureREPORTS TO: Senior Director of EngineeringGeneral Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that work is done in accordance with relevant codes.
  • Responsible for installing electrical control systems.
  • Ensures that everything is installed safely to prevent harm or danger to the public.
  • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Experience and Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial electrical systems preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of testing equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and testing lamps.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand the operation of main switchgear, distribution systems, and emergency transfer switches.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Ability to work as a team player to accomplish the goals of the Engineering Department.
