RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.We are currently seeking an individual for a Logistics Coordinator position in the Columbia, TN area of our Southern Tennessee operations. This hourly position reports to the Trucking Superintendent. Wages based on experience. Duties include but are not limited to:RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety and uphold strong personal and professional ethics.
  • Receive and manage orders in coordination with the customer service and sales teams.
  • Arrange daily trucking requirements (approx. 150 trucks) to meet customer needs.
  • Work with third-party logistics companies to fulfill delivery and trucking needs.
  • Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure logistics needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers and customers in the marketplace, with an emphasis on prompt dispute resolution.
  • Monitor haul rates and optimize fleet utilization using Fleetwatcher.
  • Provide logistical support on scheduled weekends as needed.
  • Generate weekly reports summarizing key operational issues.
  • Adapt to changing demands and ensure customer delivery expectations are met at the lowest possible cost.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to meet deadlines or at management's discretion.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn additional job functions to prepare for future responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience: 3+ years of logistics and transportation experience preferred.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience accepted. Possession of a Class B CDL or willingness to obtain is a plus.
    • Industry Knowledge: 1+ years of experience in trucking, aggregates, or construction preferred. Familiarity with dump truck operations, dispatch, order entry, sales, and fleet management is beneficial.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to learn RGI software programs, including fleet management tools and GPS. Experience with Fleet Watcher or similar programs is a plus.
    • Planning & Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage daily equipment delivery schedules and logistics operations.
    • Problem-Solving & Initiative: Ability to analyze complex issues, make informed decisions, and proactively improve processes.
    • Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage operational issues and collaborate with internal and external partners.
    • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and asking questions as needed.
