Job Description:
ASR is seeking an experienced Landscape Architect with Secret
clearance for an exciting and prestigious position at the White
House providing Landscape Architecture support to government
project teams for reconstruction and restoration projects of
landscape areas at the White House and its grounds.The White House
and President's Park were founded over 200 years ago. As the home
and office of the President of the United States, they have evolved
into what are now some of the most recognized building and
landscapes in the world.A construction program has been developed
to address a backlog of restoration and rehabilitation projects,
long term utility and structural repairs for the White House and
President's Park. Major projects on the campus include
infrastructure projects, restoration, alteration and reconstruction
of landscape areas.Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on visual impacts to landscapes, cultural
resources, historic properties, aesthetic experiences, recreation,
and tourism.
- Prepare and/or review visual impact assessments in
Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact
Statements.
- Ensure compliance with local zoning laws, building codes, and
environmental regulations.
- Serve as technical expert providing information to management
and leadership on Visual Impact Assessments (VIAs) under the
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other professionals
to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
- Oversee, manage and inspect the work of various landscape and
construction contractors performing work for various on-site
construction activities.
- Manage and inspect projects for progress, workmanship and
conformance with the contract documents and existing codes.
- Arrange and conduct a variety of meetings, at various locations
and project sites.
- Advise project team of any foreseeable problems that may arise
as projects progress.
- Provide regular project status reports to Project / Program
Manager.Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Minimum 4+ year bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture,
Landscape Design, Engineering, or other related field.
- Proficient in landscape architecture principles, techniques,
and practices.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for multiple facility
types, including Federal Government High Visibility projects
preferred.
- Certification as a Registered Landscape Architect is
preferred.
- Shall be knowledgeable in applicable safety regulations and
must have a minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training or
be able to receive such training within 90 days of start.
- Computer literate, knowledgeable in landscape design and
drafting software (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- You will be subject to a background/suitability
