Job Description:
We are a public policy research and analysis firm that helps
investors and companies more clearly and objectively understand the
policy landscape and make decisions. We are hiring a policy analyst
who will work with senior members of our team to generate written
and verbal content that forecasts U.S. policy outcomes and explains
relevant dynamics on Capitol Hill, in the administration, and among
relevant stakeholders in Washington, D.C. to a sophisticated client
base. The analyst will work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial
environment with a high degree of autonomy where thoroughness,
intellectual rigor, and passion for policy making are valued. We
cover public policy in every sector. The analyst in this position
will have a concentration in energy policy and infrastructure, but
will help us cover other areas as well.The specific
responsibilities of the policy analyst will be to: Conduct primary
and secondary research on various policy issues. Draft regular
written updates within their portfolio and beyond as needed. Engage
in deep research projects. Prepare for and engage in client phone
calls, presentations, and visits. A competitive applicant will
possess these general qualifications: Approximately five years of
experience in government, a think tank, a trade association, or
related role. Experience in a regulatory agency/ administration is
desired but not required. Experience working on energy policy and
infrastructure policy is highly valued but not required.
Demonstrated ability to act as a policy generalist is critical.
Bachelor's degree from a reputable college/university. Master's
degree is valued, but not required. The ability to analyze and form
conclusions based upon structured and unstructured data. Excellent
writing and analytical skills with the ability to formulate
informed positions and communicate complex policies to a diverse
audience. The capacity to operate independently and without regular
oversight and an aptitude to manage multiple tasks with competing
timelines and deliverables. The ability to work in a dynamic,
entrepreneurial setting servicing a sophisticated client-base
making time-sensitive and high-stakes decisions. Excellent social
and interpersonal skills. A demonstrated network of relationships
across the energy policy realm/industry is desired. A readiness to
network and develop relationships throughout the policy community
is required. An interest in business development and
entrepreneurship is valued. Starting salary range is $90-$125K,
commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive health and
