Approximately two hours away from Clearwater Paper's headquarters in Spokane, Washington, the Lewiston paper mill is a key component in Clearwater Paper's business strategy.   • Ensure safety culture throughout the organization through employee involvement and personally setting the standard for safety expectations.
  • Support local and corporate safety initiatives including behavior-based safety processes.
  • Direct maintenance & reliability prioritization, planning and execution for all departments.
  • Prepare facility operational maintenance.
  • Manage financial performance to meet budgeted objectives.
  • Implement safety and fire protection improvements.
  • Plan scheduled downtimes, shutdowns, and support capital project execution.
  • Participate in development of the annual business plan and budget.
  • Participate as a member of the Mill Leadership Team.
  • Identify and participate in quality, production, and cost improvement projects.
  • Actively seeks and allocates appropriate decision-making authority or task responsibility to appropriate individuals based on their abilities, availability, motivation, and development needs; considers potential positive and negative impact, business unit priorities, organizational values, and the opportunity to enhance others' knowledge and skills.
  • Identifies barriers that impact customer service and retention; communicates concerns and recommendations to others.
  • Uses understanding of customer needs and the organization's customer service practices to set priorities, make decisions, and take actions that create customer satisfaction and prevent service issues from occurring.
  • Creates relevant options for addressing problems and opportunities that will achieve desired outcomes.
  • Systematically evaluates business opportunities, targeting those with the greatest potential for producing positive business results.
  • Exhibits, coaches and reinforces our core values in leadership style.What you will need:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
    • Minimum ten years' experience in paper mill maintenance, engineering, budget management, project management and/or production management required.
    • Demonstrated communication and leadership skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, plan and coordinate a full-service maintenance organization.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Previous experience using a Computer Maintenance Management system preferred (e.g., JD Edwards).
    • Must possess analytical troubleshooting skills.
    • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience preferred.
    • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces.
    • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
    • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
    • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process.Total Reward DetailsWe prioritize an exceptional workplace experience, offering a comprehensive total reward package.
