THE POSITION

seeking candidates to fill the position of a Licensed Professional
Geologist. In this position, you will provide geologic expertise in
the development of abandoned mine land reclamation projects for the
Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation. If you are passionate about

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will offer hydrogeological expertise and
technical assistance to the Project Development section of the
Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation (BAMR), as well as to other
geologists and engineers within the organization. Your
responsibilities will include the independent development and
coordination of hydrogeologic, geologic, and technical
projects.
You will also lead and collaborate with team members in the
investigation and assessment of various environmental issues
related to abandoned mine lands (AMLs). This will involve
recommending solutions for both simple and complex problems,
generating cost estimates, preparing and reviewing plans, standard
specifications, reports, and feasibility studies. Additionally, you
will prioritize AML sites and update databases that are essential
for the prioritization and programming of reclamation projects in
and around abandoned strip mines and associated support areas.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork
hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute
lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home
(telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework,
you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection
and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are
unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the
headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary: Selected candidates who
are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will
begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,678.00

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSSpecial Requirements:This position requires the
possession of an active license as a professional geologist issued
by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional
Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. This position requires
possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C
driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:PA residency requirement is currently waived for
this title.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
