Expert (SME)The Physical Security Subject Matter Expert supports
the United States Coast Guard Office of Security Policy and
Management in executing security program activities. Leveraging
expertise in physical security, the SME develops and contributes to
the implementation of security policies across the USCG.
Responsibilities include analyzing emerging and existing security
technologies, reviewing and updating policies, and performing
administrative tasks and assessments. This role demands strong
verbal communication, project management, technical writing,
critical thinking, leadership, and customer service skills to
effectively support the program's objectives.In this role you
will---
- Provide a variety of functions involved in physical security
assessment, planning, and administration.
- Analyze problem areas or situations and develop appropriate
security controls.
- Conduct analysis of new and existing security-related
technologies.
- Review and update existing security policies.
- Provide mission and administrative support related to physical
security as required.
- Inform on methods to improve the efficacy of all security
programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years related experience.
- The Physical Security SME must have knowledge and experience in
a variety of functions involved in physical security assessment,
planning, and administration.
- Knowledge and experience with security engineering design,
interagency security committee (ISC) risk management process (RMP),
physical access control, access control systems, identity
management, credential management, and critical asset
protection.
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to
communicate by developing complex technical and security materials,
such as job aids, reports, and documentation manuals.
- Proficiency with various types of information technology
applications, such as Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Access,
Excel, and PowerPoint. The Contractor must have the knowledge,
skill, and appropriate access to use government databases.
- Ability to think critically and develop, refine, or modify
materials containing complex technical ideas for a variety of
audiences.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.Education Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent 4 years'
experience.Certification Requirements:
- N/ASecurity Clearance Requirements:
- DOD Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.Other Requirements:
- Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the
ability to traverse between buildings.
- May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time.
- Ability to manage stress with a high degree of
maturity/professionalism.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the
ability to work well with others.

compensation range for this position is $100,000-$120,000. Multiple
considerations are taken into account when determining the final
salary/hour rate, including but not limited to, Contract Wage
Determination, education and certifications, relevant work
experience, related skills and competencies, as well as Federal
Government Contract Labor categories. Central to Watermark's
