The Police Chief oversees the day-to-day operations of the Police Department; upholding the Department's high ethical standards.The City of Soledad is seeking a forward-thinking, community-oriented, and seasoned candidate to serve as the next Police Chief. The ideal candidate is collaborative and approachable with a proven ability to mentor and lead others.Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in criminal justice, police science, public or business administration, or a related field, and five (5) years municipal supervisory experience in police service equivalent to the level of Lieutenant or above.The annual salary range for the Police Chief is $177,069 - $211,158; placement within this range is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
