Inova Health System has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Pre-Procedural Evaluation Clinic. The clinic is a hybrid between a primary care clinic and an emergency department. Each patient is new and you have to appropriately evaluate them within a short period of time to ensure they are optimized for their upcoming procedure and anesthesia. All of our patients are pre-procedure patients who have an upcoming surgery or procedure requiring anesthesia at Inova. Providers independently evaluate and manage patients, but there is an attending anesthesiologist available for consults and questions on site every day in clinic. Due to the nature of the work, there is extensive coordination of care and communication with a wide range of providers and departments across Inova. Consultant to other disciplines in areas of expertise. Integrates research based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision making.Advocate for patients, families, coworkers, and the community.Additional Requirements:Work schedule: 8 hour shifts: Monday thru FridayEducation : Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with minimum of 2 years' experienceBoard Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
