Habitat America seeks an experienced, professional full-time affordable housing Certification Specialist in the NW Washington, DC Area for Hubbard Place Apartments. This position is an on-site based position based out of the community's management office with a heavy concentration of LIHTC and Section 8 certification.This fast-growing property management company is largely based in the Mid-Atlantic region. Habitat America puts a strong emphasis on professional growth; training and allowance plans are offered for education.If you have the skills and experience, we are looking for, then you owe it to yourself to apply now!E.O.E.POSITION SUMMARY: The Certification Specialist has the primary responsibility of ensuring the property is maintaining compliance as it relates to Tax Credit, LIHTC, HUD, EIV, etc.PRIMARY DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

• A solid understanding of HUD (Project Based Section 8) and LIHTC program.
• Experience in multiple program layers is a plus.
• 2+ years of affordable experience working at a site level or similar compliance experience.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills to work independently and as a team.
• Superior communication skills and goal-oriented.
• Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Conduct tenant reviews; process income and asset verifications; ensure 50059s are submitted in a timely manner.
• Maintain EIV files and resolve EIV discrepancies.
• Strong experience with Yardi as it relates to compliance.
• Review move-in eligibility for approval.
• Ensure Tax Credit certifications, HUD annual certifications, and HUD interim certifications are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Organize records and maintain a filing system for certification and EIV files.
• Report to the corporate Compliance Department to ensure site compliance with LIHTC, HUD, DHCD, and investor expectations.
• Prepare tenant documents for audits and reports; reconcile discrepancies; complete forms and other paperwork as required.
• This is an essential employee position Monday-Friday; hours may vary and include evenings or weekends for certification appointments, audits, and other duties as assigned.
