Job DescriptionAs a Subsea Network Planner for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you'll play a crucial role in expanding and scaling our next-generation cloud services. You'll be part of the Global Network Planning Group, making strategic decisions that shape our network infrastructure, data center subsea strategy, and market presence. This position will have you build and maintain strong relationships with subsea providers, which is crucial for OCI's growth and operational efficiency. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set(s) for the role.Qualifications:6-10+ years of experience in telecom, data center, or cloud infrastructure industriesExtensive knowledge of Internet interconnection, submarine cables, wavelengths, and fiberStrong understanding of data center operations, subsea services, and industry trendsExperience in data center site selection and evaluation processesStrong negotiation skills for subsea agreements, IP transit, wavelengths, and dark fiber contractsFamiliarity with financial modeling for deal evaluation and TCO analysisProficiency in Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, and ConfluenceWillingness to travel for site due diligence and industry conferencesStrong negotiation skills with a focus on creating win-win scenarios in long-term partnershipsAbility to build and maintain professional networks within the subsea and data center industryUnderstanding of data center contract structures, including power pricing models, SLAs, and expansion optionsFamiliarity with industry standards and certifications relevant to data center operations (e.g., Uptime Institute Tiers, ISO certifications)At OCI, we combine the agility of a startup with the resources of a global enterprise.
