contracts with the Department of State is seeking a Systems
Administrator (Junior). The ideal candidate will be responsible for
providing technical assistance and support related to computer
systems, hardware, and software. This role involves managing the
internal support of the company's PCs, servers, and network
infrastructure. Additional duties will include end-user support,
system maintenance, troubleshooting, and other tasks as
needed.Clearance Requirement: Candidates must hold a Secret
security clearance to be considered for this position.Work
Location: Washington, DCWork Schedule (Hybrid): Candidates should
expect to work three (3) days a week (T, W, TH) at the customer's
facility and two (2) days a week remotely (M, F). However, based on
the customer's needs, this could change at any time and without
prior notice.Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to end-users, resolving hardware,
software, and network issues.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of
desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other
peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with operating systems, office
applications, and other software.
- Respond to support requests through various channels including
in-person, email, and phone.
- Document issues and solutions in a clear and concise
manner.
- Manage and maintain server and network infrastructure including
Windows servers and switches.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as backups, disaster recovery
planning and system updates.
- Monitor and optimize system performance ensuring reliability,
security, and availability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various
systems (Windows Active Directory, Azure Admin portal, and Office
365).
- Enforce network security protocols and procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors for support and procurement of IT
equipment and services.
- Support IT projects and initiatives, providing technical
expertise.
- Help develop and maintain documentation related to system
configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve IT
infrastructure and support.
- Collaborate with IT leadership on long-term strategies for IT
infrastructure.Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of
Citizenship, if selected.
- High School Diploma, required.
- 1+ years of experience in desktop support and systems
administration roles.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS), Microsoft
Office Suite, and common software applications.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
and effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to
explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical
users.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on user
satisfaction.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
- Eager to learn and grow professionally.
- Driven and proactive in approach to work.Bonus Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft
Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, equivalent are
preferred.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP,
DNS, DHCP, VPN) and network infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage IT projects.Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment, including computers,
monitors, and servers.
- A good mix of office-based and remote support.
- Limited travel may be required for off-site support, training,
