This Contract Manager is responsible for cradle to grave contract
management of Verizon's agreements with the federal government. The
Manager will review, draft and revise contractual document and is
responsible for negotiating terms and conditions including terms
related to intellectual property, warranty provisions, scope
changes changing specifications, and other relevant provisions. The
Manager will monitor performance and ensures contractual
compliance. Ensures appropriate materials and services are obtained
from suppliers consistent
with cost, quality, and statement of work (SOW). The Manager will
support cross-functional teams, including sales, project
management, finance,
billing, and other organizations that support Verizon/'s sales to
the federal government
Responsibilities will include:
- Gathering data and reporting through tools, techniques and
processes.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, standards and
processes to manage and administer contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Supporting sales efforts in responding to solicitations.
- Managing relationships with Verizon's Government customers and
contractors..
- Obtaining and documenting contract approvals, tracking within
compliance templates and document retention
- Negotiating contract requirements
- Resolving disputes
- Responding to inquiries from Government customers
- Minimizing overall risk to the company
- Providing contract close out supportWhat we're looking
for...You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work
experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required,
demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military
experience, or specialized training.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word)
- Familiarity with G-Suite.
- Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours to complete
assigned matters under deadline.
- Knowledge of FARs, DFARS, and other Government acquisition
regulationsEven better if you have one or more of the following:
- Knowledge of telecommunications, technology industry, or
outsourcing arrangements.
- Experience with FAA Contracts.
- Experience with the Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy
and Contract Clauses.
- Knowledge of maintaining contract files and communicating with
government Contracting Officers.
- Ability to conduct customer negotiations over both contract
terms and disputes. Assist counsel in negotiating non-standard
terms and significant contract disputes.
- Understanding of legal terminology and ability to apply
principles of contracting to drafting within parameters set by the
Legal Department including the ability to evaluate, interpret, and
improve the language used in contractual agreements.
- Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work with
multiple internal groups to quickly achieve common goals.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with personnel at
all levels and exercise sound decision-making; ability to
effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas,
information and needs through the application of appropriate
communication behaviors.
- Attention to detail, exceptional proofreading skills, and
ability to input and process information with high levels of
accuracy.
- Business acumen and strong oral and written communication
skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple
projects with limited supervision in a dynamic environment with
tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques;
ability to prepare, negotiate, and execute successfully across the
organization and with external vendors and clients in a
constructive and collaborative manner on various contracts (e.g.,
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Service Level Agreements (SLAs),
Third Party Data Access Agreements, Service Orders and other
related agreements).
- Knowledge of and ability to establish and maintain working
relations and partnerships with contractors and the legal
department specific to contract approvals and execution, template
management and document retention.
- Knowledge of the contractual and legal matters related to
expenditures (e.g., consulting services, maintenance, agreements,
acquisitions, outsourcing); ability to evaluate, interpret and
improve the language used in contractual agreements.
- Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability
to effectively manage the business relationship with external
providers (e.g., vendors, service providers, contractors,
consultants and suppliers).
- Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and
attention to detail; ability to process information with high
levels of accuracy.
- Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and
reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department
or division of a company.
- Knowledge of policies, standards and processes of how to
manager and administer contracts; ability to use proper processes
and practices for managing and administering a variety of
contractual agreements.
- Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and
controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds;
ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse
situations.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and
techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and
accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the
application of appropriate communication behaviors.If Verizon and

position is between $89,000.00 and $165,000.00 annually based on a
full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location
and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an
incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part
time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your
hours.
