ALTA IT Services is hiring an SQL and C# Developer with hands-on
experience with Synergy Student Information System to support our
county government customer. We seek a candidate with at least 8
years of professional Software Development experience using the
tools and programming languages stated below.
Responsibilities:
Database Management and Development: Design, develop, and maintain
efficient and reliable MS SQL Server databases to support various
applications and business processes.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and
functions for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
purposes.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all
database systems.
Application Development and Integration: Collaborate with
cross-functional teams to develop applications using C# that
interact with MS SQL databases.
Design and implement integrations with the Synergy SIS system and
other relevant software applications.
Develop XML-based data exchange solutions to support
interoperability between systems.
Synergy SIS Expertise: Leverage prior experience working with the
Synergy SIS system, including its data model, APIs, and
customization capabilities.
Support K-12 school systems and districts by configuring,
maintaining, and troubleshooting Synergy SIS modules.
Act as a subject matter expert for Synergy SIS, providing training
and technical support to stakeholders as needed.
Collaboration with Educational Systems: Work closely with school
district personnel from various departments of the school system,
including administrators and other IT teams to understand business
needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide data analytics and reporting solutions that support
decision-making processes within the K-12 educational
environment.
Oracle SQL/PLSQL and Tool Utilization: Utilize Oracle SQL/PLSQL for
data extraction and manipulation when necessary, ensuring seamless
integration between databases.
Work with tools such as TOAD and MS Server Studio for database
development, performance tuning, and maintenance.
Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting: Monitor database
performance and implement optimizations to enhance system
efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance,
application integration, and Synergy SIS functionality.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain thorough documentation of
database designs, code changes, and technical configurations.
Ensure compliance with educational data standards, privacy
regulations, and security protocols.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with
emerging technologies and best practices in database management,
software development, and K-12 educational systems.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement
innovative solutions to enhance system capabilities.
Required: 8 years of professional Software Development experience
with strong skills in C#, SQL, TOAD and SQL Server Management
Studio (SSMS)
Hands on experience with the Edupoint Synergy SIS system and its
functionalities.
Desired: Experience working in K-12 school systems or school
districts, particularly in the DMV area.
Strong knowledge of XML, data exchange standards, and related
technologies.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
Ability to work independently and in team environments, managing
multiple priorities effectively
