Job Description:

SQL ProgrammerWe are seeking a SQL Programmer to assist in modernizing the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process for a reporting data mart, Health Analytics Library (HAL). This role will focus on migrating legacy SAS-based ETL processes to SQL and ensuring continuity as data marts transition to Azure cloud-based servers. The programmer will collaborate with internal data management teams and data owners, supporting the development, testing, and deployment of the new ETL process.Key Responsibilities:ETL System Analysis & Improvement:

• Analyze the current HAL data system, reviewing documentation, data models, schemas, tables, ETL processes, system management, data quality, security, queries, and reporting environments.
• Work with internal program staff, business teams, and data owners to identify and document business and technical requirements for system improvements.ETL Code Migration & Development:
  • Migrate legacy SAS-based ETL code to SQL stack language and stored procedures, ensuring modularity and scalability.
  • Design, develop, and implement new ETL processes in SQL.
  • Review and analyze existing SAS programming code, updating it to SQL programming standards.
  • Develop new SQL stack/stored procedure code to create efficient ETL processes.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and implement new ETL code in both test and production environments.
  • Work with project teams (PM, BAs, DBAs, data analysts, architects) to understand and document system, data, and integration requirements.
  • Ensure clear communication and coordination with stakeholders and teams during the project.Required Skills and Experience:
    • Proficiency in SQL programming.
    • Advanced data analysis and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft DevOps or other code management tools.Preferred Skills and Experience:
      • Experience with SAS data management.
      • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Compensation: $50-$60/hr. (DOE)
