About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Ellie Bird, a modern American restaurant in Falls Church. As a Pastry Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Pastry Chef in overseeing the production of pastry items for both Ellie Bird and our sister restaurant, Rooster & Owl.Key Responsibilities

  • Producing various pastry items based on the Executive Pastry Chef's recipes, standards, and expectations.
  • Assisting the Executive Pastry Chef in overseeing production of the pastry team.
  • Food ordering and inventory management.
  • Helping out with dinner services as needed.Requirements
    • A thorough understanding of classic/basic cooking and pastry techniques.
    • Basic understanding of equipment required to produce mise en place safely.
    • At least 1 year of managerial experience in a professional kitchen.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
