professional development program. Responsibilities: The
Occupational Therapy Assistant student implements Occupational
therapy programs and provides Occupational therapy treatments to
patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning,
under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and/or
Occupational Therapy Assistant. 1. The Occupational Therapy
Assistant Student will follow all Powerback Rehabilitation policy
andprocedures outlined in the on-boarding and orientation
process.2. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student attends and
contributes to patient care, staffingconferences and other required
meetings as a representative of Occupational therapy, underthe
direction of the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy
Assistant.3. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student is
responsible for the effective and efficient deliveryof rehab
services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and
patient(s)' schedule,and timely documentation of services with the
supervision of the Clinical Instructor.4. The Occupational Therapy
Assistant Student works with other members of therehabilitation
team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs
andcapabilities of each patient with the supervision of the
Clinical Instructor.5. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student
instructs patients, families and other caregivers inthe skills and
techniques of the Occupational therapy treatment program under the
supervisionof the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational
Therapy Assistant.6. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student
maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients
treated with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.7. The
Occupational Therapy Assistant Student cleans, maintains,
identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as
necessary with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.8. The
Occupational Therapy Assistant Student puts patient service first:
ensures that patients andfamilies receive the highest quality of
service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere whichrecognizes
the individuals' needs and rights with the supervision of the
Clinical Instructor.9. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student
implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established
by the primary Occupational Therapist with the supervision of the
Clinical Instructor.10. Under the supervision of the Clinical
Instructor, the Occupational Therapy Assistant Studentprovides
individualized Occupational therapy interventions including
application of therapeutictechniques in such areas as, but not
limited to: a. cognitive skillsb. muscle strengthc. coordinationd.
endurancee. mobilityf. perceptual abilitiesg. sensory awarenessh.
siting and standing tolerancei. balancej. activities of daily
livingk. joint protectionl. work simplificationm. orientationn.
physical agent modalities 11. The Occupational Therapy Assistant
Student organizes and facilitates treatment groups inconsultation
with the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy
Assistant.12. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student performs
other related dues as required with thesupervision of the Clinical
Instructor. Qualifications: 1. Good organizational and time
management skills.2. Good verbal and written communication
skills.
