ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Project Director to support
the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP)
in its mission to monitor and improve state compliance with the
Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. Your
responsibilities will include overseeing the execution of
task-specific activities, leading staff, resolving service delivery
challenges, and ensuring quality, timeliness, and accountability
across all contract deliverables.This is a part-time, remote

today!RESPONSIBILITIESI. Project Oversight
- Manage day-to-day execution of task-specific activities as
senior operational staff
- Lead staff involved in task execution and ensure alignment with
task requirements
- Manage project components that require coordination across
technical, administrative, and reporting functions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for OJJDP and oversee all
contractual, programmatic, and performance-related
communication
- Update government and contractor leadership on task progress
and status
- Conduct weekly check-in meetings with OJJDP and ensure
follow-up on meeting outcomes and government requestsII. Government
& Stakeholder Coordination
- Communicate effectively to coordinate across teams and with
government stakeholders
- Coordinate closely with OJJDP, the Office of the Chief
Financial Officer (OCFO), and technical assistance providers to
support implementation of project objectives
- Work with government staff and contractor personnel to advance
compliance review goals and system improvementsIII. Quality
Assurance & Compliance
- Oversee quality of work, personnel performance, and adherence
to timelines and deliverables
- Review work products for consistency with federal standards and
ensure quality assurance measures are implemented
- Develop and refine tools, processes, and resources that promote
audit readiness, data consistency, and system performanceIV.
Project Management & Risk Mitigation
- Apply strong project and financial management skills to guide
contract performance
- Employ structured project management tools to keep all
activities aligned with scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Identify and mitigate risks and challenges to ensure successful
delivery of project resultsV. Audit Support
- Ensure appropriate staff resources are identified and prepared
to support OJJDP during on-site performance audits
- Oversee preparation of pre-audit materials and ensure audit
logistics are coordinated with OJJDP expectations
- Track and resolve outstanding audit findings, oversee the
submission of supporting documentation, and confirm closure of all
deliverables
- Collaborate with audit team leads and OJJDP to ensure alignment
on audit schedules, expectations, and on-site proceduresVI.
Knowledge Management
- Support phase-in, transition, or knowledge transfer planning
when key personnel or project components changeKNOWLEDGE &
SKILLS
- Knowledge of criminal or juvenile justice programming, project
management, and training and technical assistance programs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communicatorBACKGROUND
- Experience overseeing federally funded projects or managing
contracts with justice-focused agencies preferred
- Experience coordinating audits, compliance reviews, or
evaluation activities in a federal or state setting preferred
- Detail-oriented and organizedEDUCATION
- Advanced master's degree preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
preferredThe ideal candidate must meet one of the following
education and experience combinations:
- Master's degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience in
juvenile justice, social science or other appropriate subject
area
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience in
juvenile justice, social science or similar disciplineLOCATION
