Job Description - Major Gift Officer II (Associate Director) - Community Engagement and Midtown Campus (2500004U)ABOUT UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND MEDICINE PHILANTHROPY TEAMThe University of Maryland Medicine Philanthropy (UMMP) team is a joint initiative uniting the fundraising endeavors of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical Center. This strategic partnership exemplifies a commitment to revolutionizing healthcare through transformational philanthropy.SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Major Gift Officer II of Development is responsible for the advancement of the vision and priorities of the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (UMMC Midtown Campus) and Community Engagement initiatives. The Major Gift Officer II will report to the Associate Dean of Development for the University of Maryland Medicine philanthropy team.SCOPE OF ROLE

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 80-100 major and principal gift donors.
  • Engage directly in major and principal gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for prospective donors with the potential to make gifts of more than $50,000.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the research, teaching, and patient care activity of the UMMC Midtown Campus.
  • Develop, implement, and manage an annual development plan including setting goals, developing fundraising campaigns, stewardship, event coordination, monitoring efforts and evaluating results.
  • Oversee and coordinate special fundraising publications.
  • Motivate, guide, and educate faculty in the identification and cultivation of major and principal gifts.
  • Collaborate with UMM philanthropy colleagues on institutional giving strategies, proposals, and stewardship activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation: Bachelors in a related field.Experience: Four (4) years of philanthropy experience with at least one (1) year of managing prospects in a higher education or equivalent fundraising experience.Preferred: Professional experience supporting the development work in community healthcare, an academic medical center and/or grateful patient fundraising experience preferred.Hiring Range: $90,000 - $105,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)UMB is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce and is proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer.
