Management Advisor working in a self-managed team concept, you will
be a part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at Georgetown
University. Our projects are located on two local University
campuses, and a hospital. As part of this team, you will be
responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects
associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the
campus. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $50M, with
completion of each taking the span of 1-5 years.This position is
being hired in support of a 50-year concession agreement to
operate, maintain and enhance the Georgetown University utility
system. The projects you'll take on will involve numerous and
diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy
production and distribution, and domestic water infrastructure.No
two days are the same. Starting with the development stage you will
be submitting reports and conducting meetings with Team members,
subcontractors and stakeholders on a regular basis, providing
oversight and sharing updates on projects and planning, solving
construction challenges through collaboration and clearing the path
and working towards successful completion. The key measurements of
success are successful completion of projects with no health,
safety or environmental and public relations, on time and under
budget. You will be managing contracts for both Design and
construction of capital projects within the central plants, and
managing project teams made of internal staff, external consultants
and Operations and maintenance staff.Additional duties include the
following:
- You will administer design and construction contracts,
including selection of a project delivery method, developing
project specifications, detailed scope of work, and principal
contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts
Management and the Procurement Department.
- You will collaborate with University stakeholders, ENGIE
colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects,
construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute
projects.
- You will partner with Program Manager and Operations and
Maintenance leadership to identify, justify, and prioritize
potential projects.
- You will develop and execute project schedules, ensuring
projects adhere to timelines and remain within budget, ensuring
contractors comply with their obligations while applying
collaborative problem-solving strategies to mitigate risks.
- You will manage the contractual aspects of capital projects,
including reviewing contract scopes of work and ensuring alignment
with subcontractor agreements.
- You will create and deliver presentations using tools like
Microsoft Office, Procore, or other project management software,
ensuring clear and proactive communications with stakeholders,
contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- You will facilitate meetings, confirming performance
expectations are met and project execution aligns with strategic
objectives.
- You will have gained expertise in developing work packages for
execution to include: statement of scope, change management,
performance testing, QA/QC Requirements, Parts/Tools, Man-hours,
Material Procurement, technical data Sheets,
Drawings/Specifications, Task Procedures and job safety plans.
- You have demonstrated the ability to create and maintain a
culture of camaraderie, integrity, and trust among project team
members, fostering collaboration and effective conflict
resolution.
- You understand project engineer responsibilities and can
oversee engineering reviews across energy project scopes, ensuring
technical accuracy and efficiency.
- You are capable of reviewing and improving energy analyses,
ensuring all energy-related components align with project goals and
cost-effectiveness.
- You are skilled at preparing and responding to RFPs and RFQs
(Requests for Proposals and Quotations, respectively),
documentation, aligning responses with client objectives and
project requirements.What You'll Bring:
- You have earned a Bachelor of Science engineering degree
(Electrical, Civil or Industrial) or in a relevant area.
- You have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing
complex construction or maintenance projects, successfully
delivering projects in schools, hospitals, manufacturing, or
university environments.
- Having PMP Certification is beneficial but not required.
- Proficient in financial analysis, with the ability to predict
project economics, manage budgets, and prepare financial proformas
to support informed decision-making.
- Good negotiation skills that protect company and the client's
interests while fostering positive relationships with vendors,
subcontractors, and customers.
- You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the
highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees,
contractors, and the general public.
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and
safety policies.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving
record, this role requires the safe operation of company
vehicles.
- Must be willing to work in the office five days a week, some
flexibility may be afforded for working from home in management's
discretion.
- Ability to travel domestically for general business and
training purposes.
- Could involve some lifting.
- Profound acumen in financial and contractual aspects of capital
projects.
- Must be able to multi-task; utilize problem solving and
interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional management and leadership skills.
- Physical ability to conduct regular site
walks.Compensation:Salary Range: $140,000 - $190,000 USD
annually.This represents the average expected pay range for a
qualified candidate.ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and
local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending
on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or
other bona fide factors.In addition to base pay, this position is
eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.Your Talent
