USORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:Liberation in a Generation (LibGen) is a
movement support organization dedicated to advancing the economic
liberation of people of color within one generation. Formed in
2019, LibGen is dedicated to building the power of people of color
to totally transform the economy-who controls it, how it works, and
most importantly, for whom. We bring together advocates, community
organizers, economists, and other proven and emerging leaders of
color across the country to build a Liberation Economy, within one
generation.POSITION SUMMARY:Dismantling our current Oppression
Economy and building a Liberation Economy requires building a
compelling worldview-the underlying values, beliefs, and stories
that shape our social, political and economic institutions-that
explains present realities and stretches our imaginations toward a
future vision. The Director will be responsible for shaping and
materializing a worldview that succinctly and directly engages
leaders of color in uprooting current assumptions, limiting beliefs
and oppressive values and replaces them with compelling,
irresistible narratives, stories to shape strategies, policies, and
what is possible. Most importantly, beyond crafting and sharing
that worldview, the Director of Storytelling and Narrative Change
will be responsible for developing creative and actionable
strategies with our partners that shift contemporary culture,
practices, and policies in a way that builds our movements'
political power to move closer to the Liberation Economy in one
generation. The Director will lead the creation of language, media,
and engagements aimed at expressing and amplifying LibGen's
economic worldview and policy positions to our core audiences (i.e.
grassroots organizers, national and grassroots movement partners,

responsible for managing the platforms used to amplify LibGen's
policy and narrative content, such as LibGen's social media,
newsletter, website, and imagining other creative ways to
communicate with our primary audiences. The Director will also
provide direct support to our grassroots and movement partners in
ways that both invite them to contribute to shaping our worldviews
and give them the tools to transform culture in ways that align
with these shared worldviews. Finally, to a limited extent, the
Director will manage LibGen's interaction with the media. The
Director will co-supervise two staff in coordination with the
Director of Learning and Experience as part of the Creative
Group.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a strategy for partners to adopt an
economic worldview that empowers organizers and movement leaders to
challenge and replace the assumptions, beliefs, and values of the

Liberation Economy.
- Lead the creation of storytelling and narrative materials that
will articulate and amplify LibGen's economic worldview and policy
positions with its core audiences (i.e. grassroots leaders,
movement leaders, funders, and policymakers).

economic worldview.
