hands.The Hardware Test Engineer is responsible for debugging
hardware/software products using systematic tests to develop,
apply, and maintain quality standards. Part of the R&D hardware
team, whose job is to ensure our products meet specifications,
customer expectations, and all QMS/regulatory requirements. It is
an important part of delivering our mission to provide quality
products that meet the needs of the caregiver and the
patient.Responsibilities
- Evaluate, develop, and execute test protocols, validation
plans, and strategies. Create test cases and protocols to verify
that a device meets its requirements. Analyze, develop, maintain,
and upgrade test standards and procedures.
- Write, implement, and report status for system test cases for
testing to assist in debugging and modification of software.
Document test execution. Analyze results to ensure functionality
and recommend corrective action.
- Work with design and manufacturing teams to identify testing
requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for test
failures.
- Design and create equipment for testing.
- Maintain good documentation. Provide regular progress reports.
File issues/bugs with accurate details.
- Ensure all QMS and regulatory requirements are met.
- Participate in the review of requirements and designs.
- Evaluate designs to understand the best test
implementations.
- Collaborate with and leverage cross-functional teams on common
goals.
- Help maintain laboratory infrastructure, including calibration,
maintenance, and documentation of test equipment and environmental
chambers.
- Complete assigned tasks on time and in accordance with the
appropriate process.

needs of the business.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical
engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 2+ year hardware testing experience or similar experience.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies,
and other lab equipment.
- Experience with debugging and root cause analysis.
- Experience working in an agile / scrum workflow.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including tolerance
requirements and analysis.
- Experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft OS and software
practices written for those platforms are required.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
hardware and software testing.
- Ability to understand configuration and set-up of equipment for
testing and development.
- Good documentation skills and discipline.
- Understands risk management processes and design for
testability.
- Highly regulated industry experience: Medical device or
aerospace is a plus. Knowledge of IEC 60601 and ISO 13485 is a
bonus.
- Experience with Altium, or other ECAD software, is
preferred.
- Experience with Solid Works, or other CAD software, is
preferred.
- Experience with NI LabVIEW is preferred.
- Test experience with 60601-1-2 is preferred.
- Test experience with 60601-1 is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiological parameter monitoring methods is a
plus.
- Basic scripting/ programming experience in C/C++, Python or
other comparable programming language.
- Experience with firmware development is a plus.
- Experience with Linux is a plus.
- Experience with automated testing is a plus.
- Experience working positively and productively in a highly
collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.
- Proactive communicator with good written and oral communication
skills.
- Comfortable working with design, manufacturing, and regulatory
teams.
- Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with moderate
supervision.
- Able to draw on experience and judgment to make effective
decisions.
