Requirement: Active TS/SCI Clearance RequiredWe are seeking a
highly skilled Data Center Engineer SME to support our Department
of State project in Washington, DC. This role is critical in
ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of DoS data
center operations.The Data Center Engineer SME will serve as a
subject matter expert responsible for managing, optimizing, and
securing data center infrastructure. This role requires expertise
in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability
environments, as well as troubleshooting complex IT systems.Key
Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Solutions: Optimize and maintain
mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling strategies, and energy
efficiency.
- Analyze Performance: Conduct audits and analyze data to
identify issues impacting reliability or energy consumption.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with engineers, IT professionals,
and facility managers to develop innovative and scalable
solutions.
- Support Operations: Provide operational knowledge and expertise
to support the data center operations team.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain regulatory compliance while
implementing cost-effective strategies for infrastructure
management.
- Develop Strategy: Create program and technical strategies for
data center management, ensuring efficiency and future
scalability.
- Analyze IT Architecture: Evaluate IT architecture requirements
for data center fit-out and migration planning.Required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science,
IT Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- Certified Data Center Expert (CDCE) certification is
required.
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining
enterprise-level data centers.
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, power
distribution, cooling strategies, and energy efficiency.
- Strong analytical skills with experience conducting performance
audits and risk assessments.
- Experience working in high-security environments with strict
regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership
