Senior Electrical Engineer - Building Systems
Location: Washington, DC
Travel: 10% (local job sites)My client is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm dedicated to delivering impactful solutions across diverse industries. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, they provide integrated engineering and consulting services for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and more.The Opportunity:My client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for a variety of building projects, including healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial facilities. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to high-profile projects.Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, life safety, and security systems, for new construction and modernization projects.
• Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
• Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for electrical engineering disciplines.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and prepare detailed design documents.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Coordinate work across multiple disciplines to ensure project success.
• Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and participating in project interviews.You Will Be a Great Fit If You Have:
  • 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in the AEC industry.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia, with the capability to obtain licensure in other states.
  • LEED certification or experience (a plus).
  • Experience with laboratory and medical facility design (preferred).Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
    • Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
    • Excellent work ethic and attitude.
    • Strong communication and time management skills.
    • Ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work effectively.
