scheduleTallon is recruiting for a Network Engineer with Subject
Matter Expertise (SME) supporting network transport. This position
will support data centers using Virtual Switching Systems (VSS) and
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). Qualified candidates should have
experience working with Tellabs GPON Optical LAN networking.This is
a full-time position offering W2 salary and benefits. No 1099 or
C2C is permitted. A current security clearance is required for
consideration. Prior experience supporting Department of Homeland
Security (DHS) and DHS Suitability is preferred.Role and
responsibilities:
- Work as part of a collaborative network support team providing
network optimization, equipment configurations, technology
assessments, technology insertion planning, capacity planning,
configuration management, and related activities.
- Administer a network meeting SLA requirements and approved
requirements documentation for IPv6, multi-VRF, QOS, etc.
- Manage, maintain, and support new and existing computer
systems.
- Implement and administer computer and information networks LAN,
WAN, intranet, extranet.
- Provide team support and consultation in-person and via Instant
Messaging.
- Support Software Defined Networks (SDN), Application Analysis,
and Quality of Service.
- Perform network analysis, troubleshooting, administration of
network and computer security measures.
- Assist in research and recommendations on network and data
communications hardware and software.
- Perform work that will include a variety of complex features
and require multi- or interdisciplinary approaches.
- Support network architecture and strategic planning for network
performance and optimization.
- Plan logical addressing, redundancy, capacity (logical &
physical).
- Provide network design implementation and Tier 3 operations
support.
- Provide technical information for architects to complete final
technical editing of all documents and proposals.
- Provide knowledge and experience to work at an enterprise level
in a cross-functional team to assist the teams meet SLAs.
- Support on-site schedule.Required qualifications and
experience:
- U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship).
- Current Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
- Current DHS Suitability or eligibility to obtain secure
access.
- 15+ years of experience supporting network architecture and
transport layer with expertise at a senior or SME level.
- 8+ years of overall experience must include:
- Experience with multi-vendor firewalls, multi-vendor switches
and routers.
- Experience in multiple network architectures such as tiered and
spine/leaf.
- IPv6 engineering implementation experience.
- 3+ years of overall experience must include:
- Experience managing MPLS/VPN networks.
- Experience managing SDN.
- Experience supporting Data Centers utilizing Virtual Switching
Systems (VSS) and/or Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
- Knowledge with Tellabs GPON/Optical LAN Networking.
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline; additional
years of related technical/military training or experience may be
considered in lieu of a degree.
- Current CCNA certification or equivalent; CCNP certification is
highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with client
stakeholders and meeting stated goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to support on-site schedule.
