OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science team supporting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our critical data science initiatives, ensuring secure and efficient data processing while adhering to strict federal compliance standards.Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data science workflows and analytical processes.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for handling large volumes of sensitive data.
• Collaborate with data scientists to implement machine learning models in production environments.
• Ensure data security and compliance with federal regulations, including FedRAMP and IRS security standards.
• Create and maintain documentation for data infrastructure and processes.
• Implement data quality controls and monitoring systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to receive Public Trust Clearance
• Bachelor's in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree.
• Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on a fully remote team and maintain delivery tempo.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Experience with data and analytics platforms like Databricks.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining production ETL pipelines.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of data security principles and compliance requirements.
• Experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau.Technical Skills
• Languages: Python, SQL, Scala.
• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL.
• Cloud Platforms: AWS GovCloud, Google Cloud Platform.
• Data Analytics Platform: Databricks.
• Data Quality Tools: Great Expectations, dbt.
• Analytics: Google Analytics 4, Big Query.
