Senior Project Development Engineer - Maximum Term Full Time /
Perth CBDAre you an experienced Senior Project Development
Engineer, ready to lead the development of complex, high-value
projects within the energy sector? We're seeking a skilled engineer
with a proven track record in managing large-scale, technically
challenging projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and
collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines. Your
technical expertise, combined with your ability to engage key
stakeholders, balance competing priorities, and drive project
delivery within stringent deadlines, will be critical to your
success in this role.You'll gain exposure to concepts and practices
that are at the technical, commercial, and regulatory forefront of
Western Australia's transforming energy landscape, while helping
develop ambitious renewable energy projects for the benefit of the
Western Australian community and electricity consumers.As a Senior
Project Development Engineer, you'll challenge and influence
technical solutions, ensuring alignment with the highest standards
of engineering and regulatory compliance.In preparation for project
execution, you will initiate investments in accordance with Western
Power's Investment Governance Framework and prepare business cases
to justify investment decisions based on sound assessment of
relevant financial, commercial, regulatory and risk
considerations.Your Role in Action
- Coordinate and lead Joint Planning Teams and provide technical
input into the options analysis and scope development.
- Develop and collate robust and detailed documentation to
support investment decisions.
- Analyse and assess technical solutions to planning problems,
including costing of feasible options.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and
external stakeholders to ensure effective and timely framing of
decisions and/or contracts relating to complex network and major
customer connections and line relocations.
- Ensure appropriate and robust commercial solutions having
regard to risk implications and all engineering requirements.
- Be responsible and accountable for the production and
management of accurate capital budget requirements associated with
complex projects.
- Apply the Regulatory and Technical rules, policies and
guidelines to customer driven and network investments and planning
criteria.
- Provide mentoring to graduate engineers.
- Provide high quality data and forecasts with respect to
investment proposals.What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree Qualification in Engineering (Electrical)
- Eligibility to CP Eng status by Engineers Australia
- Post-graduate qualifications in Engineering or Economics -
desirable
- Good understanding of project management frameworks and
experience in managing projects.
- A comprehensive and broad understanding of risk, commercial and
compliance management
- A good understanding of operating within a regulatory
framework
- Superior communication skills, including written skills to
construct high level business cases
- Previous sound Project Management experience with a good
understanding of project management frameworks is required
- Ability to build and maintain excellent internal and external
