Job Description:
Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Develop solutions to improve
safety, patient outcomes, security and privacy, efficiency, and
value. Analyze data, apply system engineering methods to hospital
operations, identify inefficiencies, and propose corrective actions
or new processes to improve the overall operational and financial
performance. Incorporate humans in the system's design to ensure
the implementation of solutions is achievable, transforming lives
across both campuses. Work closely with partners to assure
coordination between system and medical center efforts. Specific
responsibilities include:
- Work with colleagues to inform strategic plans by completing
gap analyses of the differences between current and targeted
performance and quality states and interpreting findings to provide
recommendations for senior leadership.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions and contribute to
decision-making processes by producing models and simulations that
analyze actions and objectives to ensure plans meet the overall
strategic plan goals.
- Evaluate data to predict the impact of strategy changes on the
budget, understand the causes of budget variances, and identify
opportunities for budget savings.
- Assist capital asset and infrastructure planning for optimal
hospital operations.
- Support and advance patient care by applying healthcare system
engineering principles to identify solutions to improve the quality
of care, patient throughput, and value.
- Create monitoring metrics and tools to ensure compliance with
recommended changes.
- Develop methods, standards, and cost analysis methods to
promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
- Engage hospital stakeholders to create implementable solutions
to bed capacity constraints, OR throughput, patient flow,
ambulatory access and inventory management.
- Using engineering principles, develop simulations and
validations to drive improvement initiatives focused on optimizing
efficient and high-quality clinical processes, solving hospital
throughput and utilization challenges, and improving financial
performance.
- Describe the requirements, drivers, functions, components,
interdependencies, risks, and quality factors of various
processes.
- Identify innovative operational efficiency concepts to improve
the quality of care, provider efficiency and service.
- Develop novel model simulations to understand areas for
improvement and the impact of proposed process changes.
- Employ a proven systematic method for collecting, analyzing,
and leveraging information to evaluate healthcare processes for
effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and develop actions
to address process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present ideas to Senior Leadership team.
- Develop partnerships with medical, ancillary, and
administrative staff to understand workflows and suggest new
initiatives.
- Support operational managers and directors.

work!QualificationsRequirements
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial/Management
Engineering or a related discipline.
- Three (3) years of experience with statistical analysis for
informed decision-making, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending
process improvements.
- Two (2) years of experience using a systems engineering
approach to conduct healthcare workplace operational efficiency
projects and/or organizational studies to implement projects from
research through to design, development, testing, and
maintenance.
- Two (2) years of experience applying Lean Management Systems,
continuous process improvement, information systems, and enterprise
wide change management in healthcare.
- One (1) year of experience developing and distributing
performance data, reports, dashboards, and other key
indicators.Additional InformationSalary Range: $110,000 to $125,000
