Job Description:
Consulting Associate for Charles River Associates in Washington,
DC to conduct complex financial and economic analyses and develop
presentation materials related to overall corporate strategy as well as
individual practice strategy and operations. Conceptualize and develop a
comprehensive and creative approach to analyzing complex strategy and
operational issues related to compensation, budgeting, internal business/career
development initiatives, and profitability across practices. Review,
manipulate and analyze large economic and financial datasets using Microsoft
Excel, STATA and SQL and identify key information for external investors as
well as CRA’s internal Board of Directors. Use historical company data
to analyze key drivers of financial performance in each practice.
Evaluate profitability and individual performance within each practice
and work with high level executives to determine an equitable allocation of
bonus funds across practices. Track progress of internal career development
initiatives by compiling and evaluating financial and activity-based
performance data against budgeted expectations. Identify and design analytic
tasks and customize standard analytic tools for projects that require
applying creative solutions to multi-faceted problems. Ensure the
integrity and accuracy of analyses. Assist in the final stages of
presentations and deliverables. Review and summarize analyst reports, academic
articles and industry trade press. Draft sections of reports, presentations
and memos that involve standard analysis. Requires Bachelor's degree in
economics, statistics, econometrics or related field (will accept foreign
education equivalent) plus 3 years of experience performing financial and
econometric analysis in support of litigation or business development.
Experience must include demonstrated expertise (DE) performing regression
analysis and econometric modeling -- utilizing MATLAB, SAS, SQL, or VBA for
Excel -- to measure competitive interactions and anti-competitive effects on
pricing, margins, and sales; DE writing loops and macros to clean complex
large datasets using Stata, SPSS, R, or S-PLUS to prepare the data
for econometric and quantitative studies, including market share,
pricing, demand or event studies; DE applying microeconomic theory,
industrial organization, corporate finance theory, and econometrics to
analyze economic markets and competitive effects to resolve market
comparison problems using quantitative analysis methods and techniques; and
DE analyzing KPIs, including profit & loss, billability, revenue
generation, lead generation, operating productivity, gross margin,
performance, internal marketing, and variable cost percentage, to develop
dashboards to enhance communication among relevant stakeholders. Send resume
